This may sound like a journal entry to some of you, but how do you put 30 years into a small nutshell? For me I don’t really remember anything until around 8 years old? I see the photographs, I watch the home videos but doesn’t that make me more like — 22?? (Just another reason to take so many photos)
30 makes me THANKFUL for so many things. Thankful for family, friends, accomplishments and future goals. Instead of going down a bunny trail (I’m REALLY good at that, you know around the bush, stop at target, through the tunnel — oh look Hobby Lobby!) SOOOO to protect you all from that I’m creating my bullet point list of 30 things I’m thankful for, that I’ve learned, treasured and cared about. AND LETS BE HONEST — 30 doesn’t cut it, I should be 350 years old if bullet points are counting that way. So if I missed something just remember I’m not as young as I used to be! Honestly a Facebook Ad showed me a picture of of Tshirt I should buy - it said VINTAGE est. 1989. SERIOUSLY?!?! I thought Vintage went with over the hill, retired, I mean I almost bought that shirt for dad’s 80th this year. Way to rub it in Facebook.
FAMILY- family I’ve always had, family I’ve gained LOVE YOU ALL
HUSBAND - Seriously don’t know how you put up with me. I don’t deserve you and you make me the happiest person in the world. THANK YOU for all you do for us. SERIOUSLY guys he’s the one that keeps everything together so I can do this dream of mine. Love you babe
WORK - Thankful that the 12 past working years I’ve had some of the most amazing experiences, fantastic bosses and amazing clients.
HEALTH - lets not beat around the bush, sometimes life down right sucks in the department. But I’m thankful for doctors who know what they’re doing
HOME - Thankful for our house that’s become our home, we worked SO FREAKING hard for it and I’m so glad we can enjoy a material thing on this earth
WEALTH - I’m not talking money here, experiences and opportunities that I’ve had especially in the past years has made me feel so rich, loved, and grateful
TIME - thankful for you, thankful for minutes in each day that I have to make the most of them — or take a nap and binge watch netflix, but I’m grateful for you
SCHOOL - I was fortunate that graduating HS wasn’t a feat, it wasn’t a struggle and I definitely had blinders on growing up where I did that it’s not a simple task for some
COLLEGE - I graduated, I got a degree. Even though that door closed for me I blossomed from it and I’m damn proud of myself for that.
COLLEGE Friends - you girls know who you are, you’re the ones that made every day going there worth it.
FRIENDS - My few and far in between, I’m so happy that we made it, that we pick up with loss of time in between, states even for some, and never miss a beat. I’m so glad you’re stuck with me. HA
PARENTS - I was definitely raised the baby, I knew it. I had siblings that spoiled the crap out of me (and still are). Thank you for teaching me to stay humble (I know I messed that up before) but I love the way you raised me. Someday I hope to do the same. We never missed church, mom I could always sucker you into Halls ice cream run after AWANA, and we held growth group at the house. Our home was always welcoming to anyone, anytime and there was always good food — usually shoved at us until we ate our 5th dinner presnack, ya know in case you were still hungry. Thankful for being able to watch a farm grow (yeah I know brother I didn’t even do any work - guilty, baby remember??) but I loved feeding the animals, messing up the perfect hay stacks and jumping in the creek. Those were memories.
SECOND BIRTHDAY - I make it no secret (I hope) that I’ve got our one and only JESUS in me
BOOKS - my way of escape from this busy world, give me all the free romance novels on Amazon
OUR FIRST HOME - you were painful to look at, annoying to live in, and just when we fixed you up we left you. But you were so good to us, kept us humble and happy and we made you our own
HS MUSICALS - I was so shy and so afraid of public speaking and being looked at in any instance but you gave me an outlet and I blossomed. That’s something I took with me my entire life, it helped more than any English or Math class ever did
FRIENDORS - all of you dear amazing people that I’ve been blessed enough to work with, collaborate with and now grab coffee dates with, thank you dear souls that are so amazing. Blown away by your talents!
DREAMS - so glad that I can still dream, still imagine what it could be and going for it — so glad I have support behind me for it too!
GOALS - never stop making goals for yourself. I have lists for everything Life Goals, Family Goals, House Goals, Married Goals etc. …I also have grocery lists that get left on the counter ad never actually make it to the store
AMERICA - broad one here but the older I get the more I realize how blessed I am to live in this country, there’s a lot of hate going on right now but we are so fortunate.
PAINFUL EXPERIENCES - they help you grow
LITERATURE CLASS - in college, sweetest professor and honestly it was fun — I used so many ideas from that class while I was substituting
HUMAN CONTACT - I’m all about my personal space, I need my space but I love hugs — so thanks for all the hugs
TEXTS - those of you that just randomly text me to say hello and check in
CRAZY CAT LADY - that’s me, I love the cuddles, the nose bites, the bathroom buddies and even the constant in front of my feet tripping you do
ICE CREAM - do I even need an explanation?
PHOTOGRAPHERS - from close friends to my Instagram inspirations l’ve learned so much and respect all your hard work
STUDIO - to supporting a business and watching it grow in such a short amount of time, feeling so blessed by the community
CHURCH - my other family. Thank you for supporting and uplifting, praying and cheering. Some Sundays are harder to be there than others - I love what I do but it does keep me away sometimes, and I’m never questioned or cornered and judged and it means so so much to be a part of a family like that.
PHOTOGRAPHY - has brought a whole new world for me, who knew that when I saved up my money for a couple years and purchased my very own “professional” (but not really) Nikon 3200 that it would bring me as far as I’ve come. THANK YOU to my family and friends that asked me to do photos before I had any idea what I was doing. It’s a passion that started out in my tweens and I never thought of it as a realistic dream — so here I am SHOUTING IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS —— FOLLOW - YOUR - DREAMS — they’re not stupid, they’re not junk, you’re capable, you just gotta work and work and work and work lol
